Royal Park Masterplan

Creating a vision and long-term plan for Royal Park.

The Draft Royal Park Master Plan has been developed in partnership with the community, stakeholders, Traditional Owners and other park users through extensive consultation to guide the management of the park for the next 20 years.

The draft master plan elevates the voice and role of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Traditional Owners, while also considering the challenges of population growth and climate change and balancing the needs of existing and future generations.

Extensive community and stakeholder consultation has been conducted, along with detailed research and analysis by the City of Melbourne. The analysis examined heritage and Traditional Owner cultural values, ecology, traffic and parking, recreation needs and social values including community safety. A discussion paper released for public consultation in November 2023 received a broad range of feedback from almost 1900 community members.
